New construction of the Valley Region Elementary School No. 10 project comprised of two buildings. Building 1 is a 20,000-SF two-story building containing 27 classrooms for K through 5 students. Building 2 (consisting of two blocks) is a 33,000-SF two-story and attached one-story structure which contains administration offices, multi-media library, a restaurant kitchen, faculty dining, food services area, and multi-purpose room. Site improvements include parking lot faculty and staff, re-striping of existing fields and B-permit work consisting of driveways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters. Amenities include security system, CCTV, public address system, MATV, A/V system, lighting control system and infrastructure for LAUSD computer system. The exterior playground amenities includes courts for handball, basketball, volleyball and tetherball, a track & field area, striped game courts, horizontal bars and a composite play structure. The school was built adjacent to the existing and operational Sutter Middle School which required extensive coordination and safety efforts.
