Work consisted of demolition of an existing vacant warehouse building and construction of a two-story 54,000-SF police station facility on a 6.5-acre site. The structure was framed with structural steel and metal deck with plaster walls over light gauge studs. This new community station enhances the ability of the Police Department to better serve San Fernando Valley communities and will relieve overcrowding of other Valley Stations. This new facility consists of a two-story policeĀ· station with temporary detention cells, an auto maintenance building, a vehicle wash facility, on-ground parking lot, a helipad, and a communication tower. To achieve its LEED Gold rating, the project incorporated energy-saving light fixtures and other "green" features, including an efficient irrigation system and solar panels.
